Position: Medical Assistant

Location: Honolulu, HI

Pay: $22/hour

Type: Full-time; Temp to Perm

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:45 AM – 4:15 PM

Kahu Malama Nurses is seeking Medical Assistants to join a growing team!

Job Description:

1. Greet and assist patients at check-in and coordinate referrals and scheduling.
2. Take vital signs and document patient medical history accurately.
3. Support clinical procedures, including wound care, IUD insertions, and colposcopies.
4. Perform diagnostic testing such as pregnancy, urinalysis, flu, and strep tests.
5. Administer immunizations and injections under licensed supervision.
6. Handle patient record updates and prescription refill requests.
7. Verify insurance and assist with front desk and back office operations.
8. Ensure exam rooms and supplies are properly prepared and stocked.

Experience & Education:

1. 1–2 years of experience in a medical or outpatient clinical setting preferred.
2. EPIC EMR experience is a plus.
3. Current BLS certification required.
4. Hawaii Medical Assistant Certification preferred. RN/LPN credentials may be accepted.

Position Requirements:

1. Proficiency in Google G Suite and basic computer literacy.
2. Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
3. Strong verbal communication and customer service mindset.
4. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
