Position: Humanitarian Assistant

Location: Kahului, HI

Pay: $23/hr

Experience: N/A

Type: Full-time; Direct Hire

Schedule: Day Shift; Ability to work varied shifts, which may include nights and weekends.

  

Employers Options is seeking a Humanitarian Assistant to join a community-based team for Maui disaster recovery!


Job Description:  

  • Supports professional staff in delivering various humanitarian services to the public.
  • Humanitarian services include, but are not limited to, food and water distribution, arranging for housing, and collection and distribution of household essentials and clothing.
  • Create a profile on HireNet Hawaii.
  • Attend orientation to ensure understand expectations and commitment,
  • Attend training in accordance with your established training plan.
  • Attend team meetings as needed.
  • Record hours worked and submit signed timesheets to the host site leader at the end of each week.
  • Check time sheets for accuracy and completeness and submit to the employment agency to process payroll.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service ensuring that the host site and recipients needs are met.
  • Understand, follow and support all safety policies and programs.
  • Regular attendance.
  • Obtain unsubsidized employment or increase pay and/or benefits.


Position Requirements:    

  • Ability to relate to and a desire to understand and help individuals with diverse cultural backgrounds and various social and economic levels and persons with disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, which includes, written, verbal and listening.
  • Cooperative team player and a desire to help others.
